FAQ
| Question | What medical services will be available to me as a UK citizen in Spain ? |
| Answer | You will be entitled to the same services as Spanish people. Providing you hold a valid E111 form (details of which can be found in the Department of Health publication Health Advice for Travellers, then you will benefit from the reciprocal healthcare agreement between EC countries. However you must see a doctor working within the Spanish Health Service and you should be aware that in some parts of the country, particularly the outlying islands, you may need to be prepared to travel some distance to find a surgery, health centre or hospital clinic operating within the health service. Make sure you have adequate travel insurance (which does not exclude pre-existing medical conditions like diabetes) in case you need to be treated privately. |
