FAQ

Question Does Spain still have a siesta time or is siesta a bygone tradition?

Answer

In many areas of Spain everything still stops for siesta. When you are a new comer to Spain this certainly takes some getting used to and can be a little frustrating but after a while when you have relaxed a little yourself you can understand that it makes perfect sense to take it easy during the warmest part of the day. Siesta time is from around 1 pm to 5 pm, this will vary slightly. It is time for a substantial meal and a snooze. Shops are then often open until 8 pm or the bigger shops a little later.
